To continue: (This was a suggestion by @JudyEv The first half of kindergarten was spent in Cleveland at a Catholic school around the corner. The only thing I remember about that was nap time. The second half of kindergarten was spent in East Cleveland at another Catholic school - no nap time there. The only thing I remember was a day when I was coloring a wheelbarrow. I was always a perfectionist; and the little boy next to me jostled my arm and made me color outside of the lines. I was really upset! First grade was learning how to print and how to read. I remember the Dick and Jane primers and making flower crowns for the Virgin Mary statue during certain times of the year. I was in the top 4 readers in my class; so the nun recommended that I skip 2nd grade. My mother agreed. To be continued... Photo Credit: Pixabay

I liked to stay inside the lines while coloring too.

Sometimes you are lucky and get to skip a grade and become an involved student. They wanted to have my youngest one skip first and my middle one to repeat first. Funny how children from the same family can be so different.

They also wanted me to skip another grade. My mother had the foresight to say "no". I'm glad she did.

I remember those primers, I also remember trying hard to write the alphabet. You were such a smart little girl skipping a grade,

The nuns wanted me to skip another grade; but my mother was smart enough to say "no". I would have gotten out of high school at 16. Way too young.

I remember kindergarten is where I learned to tie my shoes. Dad had tried to teach me at home using the "rabbit runs around the tree and down the hole" method, but I hadn't quite gotten it, yet!

How cute. I think I learned at home...from what I can remember.

I have little memories about my childhood days. I didn't like school, most of the time. Playground activities, certain incidents, I remember. My life always had one friend, who was bossy and controlling.

Sounds like my sister-in-law. We were friends in junior high and high school.
