In West Bengal this year there has been no norwesters.

April 28, 2022 4:21am CST
As the Bay of Bengal is 160 kilometers away from Kolkata the capital of West Bengal there is a coastal influence over here. Every year by the end of April we have at least 2 norwesters called kalbaisakhi. It creates strong winds and heavy rainfall. But this year there has not been one. For those reasons temperature has gone to 38 degree celsius and humidity up to 83 %.

The heat must be so unbearable there.

thanks Ocean this year the heat is greatest in last 20 years in India. May be over-urbanization and building houses at the sites where ponds existed may be some of the reasons
