Rachel Maddow counts herself a member of ''The Press''---Why Does That Strike Me as Odd??

Watching last night's THE RACHEL MADDOW SHOW, I saw her do a whole segment on 'how The Press & The President have long been at-odds' (reminding us that Trump got his "The Press is the enemy of the people"-idea from Stalin!)
Don't get me wrong; she's a wise and worthy "Commentator" on The Press--fully certified, widely-published, and a great 'filter through which people SHOULD receive the national news' (if they can't get Jan Jeffcoat (THE NATIONAL DESK)--but ... have YOU ever seen her 'go to a press-conference' or 'reporting the news from The News-scenes'?

And it seems like 99.99% of her 'reporting' is "reading the news she picks up from media all over." So she's not so much 'an anchor' (a word first used on a newsperson on a game-show, where his role as "anchor" in a trivia-relay), as 'an anchor' also "runs the same course as the correspondents"; she's more like 'a track-coach'---watching ALL the 'runners' & commenting on their collaborative performance.
And do you count 'a coach' as 'a member of the team'?

Why not? Is it just 'she hasn't shown up on your radar that much,' or is there something you really don't like about her?

She's on MSNBC. I don't keep up with ratings, but I watch her even more regularly than my local news; and I hear she's got a project or two in the works (at least one in development, and always an infinite number of them brewing in her mind!)

A court ruled Rachel Maddow's viewers know she offers exaggeration and opinion, not facts. Obama-appointed federal judge, Cynthia Bashant, dismissed the lawsuit on those grounds. The Alex Jones defense.
