Shingles Shot (or, as I gaffed and called it - Skittles Shot)

I saw my doc today for my 6-month checkup. Everything went well. I'm down 18 lbs since last November. My BP numbers were excellent. My heart was still beating and I could breathe.
He did fill me in on the 2nd Covid Booster. Doc only recommends it for patients 80 or over. He said young people like me don't really need it as the increase in immunity in us "kids" only lasts 4 to 5 weeks. Hey, the guy was an immunology fellow at Duke. When he tells me something like that, I trust him.
I did get my first dose of the Shingles vaccine today. Having had chickenpox twice as a kid and shingles once as an adult already, I'd rather not have it again.
Of course, when I got home, I told my wife I'd had the Skittles shot. She laughed and asked me if that meant I was immune from tasting the rainbow.
I did have to play hooky - with permission - from school today to go to my doctor. His office is 90 minutes from here. And tomorrow is a 1/2 day at school. Yay, me!
Hope y'all are doing well.

When I had a case a few years ago, my doc asked me how many days it kept me out o work. I told him I hadn't missed any work because of it, I just soldiered on. He told me I must have a high tolerance for pain. After living with fibro for all these years, I suppose I do.

@RebeccasFarm Thank you. I've learned to push the fibro pain into the background and go about life as usual. Early on I was told the trick to living with it is to keep on moving.
