Yesterday evening I went to a fire at my friend's place. It is always a nice, informal gathering. I got to take my mom with me happy to say - nice to have her meet the people and relax with a fire. Right now my hair still smells like smoke, but that's ok.
Do you like bonfires?

Oh! I love them. But I have not been to one since the pandemic started. Hopefully we get to attend one soon. Right now it's summer here and bonfire is out of question

@FayeHazel In India, we have long summer from April to September. Luckily our city has a pleasant weather throughout the year. We don't get extreme temperatures like other parts of the country.

I know that was fun for you and your mom. We have a fire pit in the back yard and a "shack" to sit in away from the mosquitos.

Thanks! I love your idea about the shack. We used to know some people who had a similar screen building it was really nice

@FayeHazel At first we'd sit in lawn chairs, but the bugs here are so bad, we decided to build a small screened in shack (our kids call it the love shack, lol), then we put in a bed that has a back that can be raised like a lawn chair, so that's nice and comfy. Later we added a small fridge/freezer, a ceiling fan, small air conditioner, and roll up blinds that can be lowered when the air is too cool.

I love bonfires! That's part of the reason I love going camping so much!
Where I live now I can't have fires in my yard, but I have a buddy that owns 40 acres of land outside of town and we'll often go there and sit around a big bonfire with lots of friends.

@FayeHazel HOA restrictions. But there is a huge forest behind my property that I could sneak back and build fires, but I don’t want to take any chances of burning the place down! Lol

Aw no. Why can't you have fire in your yard? It's nice your friend has that space though

When I was younger, camp fires were to hot for me, so no, I wouldn't really like a bond fire.

Yeah, I think same thing. :-) Ooo, what kind of fire pit did you end up with?

Cozy is a great word :-) Oh yeah, mostly visit and sometimes people will bring a drink or something to cook over the fire. It would be a lovely meditation setting too actually now that you mention
