Another day out shopping.

My Mum had to get a bit of her repeat prescription today so she came shopping with me and we went to the pub again for a breakfast for our lunch. I set off in front to get to the pub before they changed the menu over from the breakfast menu to the lunch menu and my Mum followed on some way behind. I aimed to get to the pub by half past eleven. I even went to the toilet by the Cathedral first, and I still managed to get to the pub by half past eleven. Infact it was twenty nine minutes past when I got there. I ordered a cappuccino with soy milk and a large vegan breakfast with an extra vegan sausage and an extra mushroom! It came to £13.45 in all. I went and sat down to wait. It wasn't long until the lady brought me my cappuccino with soy milk, which was very tasty as usual. There were some little dogs in today. There was 1 that was with his owner in the alcove near the door and 2 further in and I could here them barking but couldn't see them. Not until the one lady went passed to go to the loo with her dog. He was a lovely little dog. Then later the other 2 dogs came to go out with their owner and the other dog went over to sniff at them. I'd very nearly finished my cappuccino when my food came. But I found that my extra vegan sausage and my extra mushroom were nowhere to be found! And I seemed to have one too many hash browns! So next time one of the waiters came near I said, excuse me, sorry, I ordered an extra vegan sausage and an extra mushroom but I don't seem to have them. And the fella said, I'll go and sort that out for you. He went away and came back a few minutes later and said, I'm sorry about that, he misread the tag. Which means the chef thought I wanted an extra hash brown instead! I'd got 3 hash browns in the first place, why would I want another! Anyway it wasn't long before the lady came with my extra vegan sausage and extra mushroom in a little dish, apologising profusely! My Mum didn't get to the pub until quarter past twelve! When she came in I was half way through my lunch again. My Mum said she'd had to sit down on benches twice before she got there! She went and ordered her dinner. She had a regular all day breakfast and a cappuccino with regular milk. When her lunch came I'd finished mine, except for my extra hash brown which I gave to her! The little dog that I mentioned earlier that was with his owner in the alcove by the door went to go out with its owner and I said to my Mum, the little doggies going now. Goodbye little doggie! And the dogs owner turned and looked at me and smiled. I said, the dogs owner thinks I'm funny! My Mum was about half way through her lunch when she jolted her cup and spilt half of her cappuccino all over her lunch and all over the table! It landed smack bang on her black pudding! She wiped it off the table with one of her napkins and I wiped her knife off because that was covered in it too! But then she carried on eating her lunch and she said it didn't taste that bad! I couldn't help laughing! When we'd finished our lunch, we were going to rush off before one of the waiters saw what Mum had done to her lunch! But we weren't quick enough and the waitress got there first! Mum explained what had happened and the waitress was apologising. I mean it wasn't her fault, it was my clumsy mother, why was she apologising? We wanted to go to the toilet in the pub, so we headed in that direction, and I saw that there was a disabled loo. The waitress came passed on her way to the kitchens and said she'd get someone to fetch us the key. So we went to the loo in there and then we made our way to Boots to get Mum's repeat prescription. Then we went and sat on a bench for a bit. I asked my Mum if she wanted me to go to Rileys while she sat on the bench. So she gave me some money and her small list and off I went to Rileys. We didn't want any strawberries today because we've got plenty but I got some red grapes, half a cucumber, some tomatoes and some little gem lettuce, and that was all. I whipped round the shop in no time, paid, and went back to my Mum on the bench. Then I went to the Oxfam bookshop. While I was in there Mum sat on a bench opposite. I was looking for Isaac Asimov books again and there were 2 there but they were Second Foundation and Foundation and Empire which I've already got - twice! This is because I got them one day and then the next week I went back again but couldn't remember which books I'd got so I got them again. But now I know which ones I've got so I won't be making that mistake again. Instead I got 4 books by Frank Herbert and 1 by Douglas Adams which was one of the books in The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy series. I think it was book 5 in the trilogy. Yes, work that one out! I went back to my Mum and sat on the bench for a bit looking at my books. Then we set off for home. We went through B&M even though we were not getting anything from there, but Mum said it would be warmer going through the shop than going through the walk way. Mum decided she needed to sit on a bench my Minster Pool, so I went off to the toilets by the Cathedral on my own and said I'd come back to her afterwards. But she must have thought I was taking a long time because when I came out again she was just coming in. She said, I thought you were coming back to me, and I said, I was but you're here now. She went to the toilet and I waited just outside. Then we made our way round Stowe Pool. We sat on a bench and my Mum phoned my step-dad to tell him where we were and that we were on our way back. This was at quarter past four! We walked a bit and then sat on another bench. By the time we had come back to the road it was twenty past five! HOW did it take us a whole hour just to walk past Stowe Pool?! We were just walking along St Chad's Road when it started to rain, so I hurried to get home and Mum followed behind. She told me later that a nice couple gave her a lift because they could see she was struggling even though she was only just around the corner from home at that time. We got in just in time before the heavens really opened - again! How was your day?

@RubyHawk I don't know how she managed that! I don't think I'd have wanted to carry on eating if it happened to me!

@sharonelton I'd prefer to be able to do a lot of things, especially cook and bake; but I'm unable to anymore.

@sharonelton you know that is not so bad, My dearest mum once accidentally flipped a butter knife onto another person's dish at the next table, We had no idea how that happened but figured she had put the knife at the edge of the table and then put her elbow on it

Was it a long day for you and your mum? About time to prepare tea (dinner) when you got home.
