Frugal Shopping: Dollar Tree Mini Haul $8.93

I know that Dollar Tree's across the nation have raised prices to $1.25, but I refuse to call it the Dollar Twenty Five Tree like everybody else has been. I think its silly and stupid.
Anyway, if you've been following me for the long haul you will know that I used to do Dollar Tree Hauls often. Partially because I wasn't making as much money as I am now, and two because well I worked at DT, so it was where I bought everything. I also lived out in the boonies, so it was easier to just buy stuff from work and take it home instead of stopping somewhere else.
That is really all besides the point. I went in to get shot glasses and snacky foods for this afternoon. I got both of those things. Like I said I spent $8,93 total, with tax etc.
Here's what I scored:
-12 count FisherBoy Fish Sticks
-6 count Mini Corn Dogs x2
-Ham and Cheese Hot Pockets x2
-16 oz Dr Pepper
-10 pack of Shot Glasses
So I think I did pretty good. Granted it wasn't anything really that exciting. The snack food was just because I was there and didn't want to stop anywhere else.
I really need to go to DT again soon and stock up on snack food, cereals and stuff since the kids get off school in a couple weeks. I also go there to get cleaning supplies.
What's your favorite thing to get from Dollar Tree?

I don't like getting anything other than name brand soft drinks, so DT is not my go to unless it's just a 16 or 20 oz.

@thislittlepennyearns Sometimes they have 1 liter bottles of the brand names. But I guess it depends on where you go.

@tammys85 They had the two liters of Diet Coke and Fanta tonight when we went. But we don't drink either brand. I don't mind the eoff brands like Shasta, but the rest of the household are picky or spoiled. Depending on how you look at it.

Here in Daytona, we have Family Dollar and Dollar general. I don't remember the last time I was in an actual dollar tree. But, I loved looking around in those.

@thislittlepennyearns Yes, I know. But, I also recall as a kid going to the literal Dollar tree. But, the closest I get now is family dollar.

Every time you go in Family Dollar you are in a Dollar Tree. They are the same company. A lot of the family dollars are getting dollar zones.

I don't know anyone who calls it the Dollar Twenty-Five Tree lol. I don't care if people call it that, but I'm too lazy to add that extra word. 
I might say it as a joke though lol.
As for my favorite thing to get from DT, I don't know, odds and ends I guess. Stuff for my planners/journals, pet stuff and snacks, I guess.

@thislittlepennyearns I've been budgeting lately, so it's not as much these days. I did buy a pencil cup from there yesterday. I've been using my Monsters Inc. cup, and I'm sick of pulling out the wrong pen lol.
They have stickers and gel pens.

@tammys85 I like gel pens. LOL. I have been trying to watch what I Spent at DT, because if I don't keep track, I will spend hundreds of dollars there a week.

I don't frequent it much any more. The only thing I got from the last was a pink, rubber thimble. I use it to open bags while cashiering. It works very well for that.
There are several dollar stores that aren't even close to a dollar. They just don't add on any cents or at least that's how it used to be. So still calling dt the dollar tree makes sense to me.

I went to Dollar General and Family Dollar today too. I wasn't going to. But its supposed to storm all night and I didn't want to go out to Walmart in the storm, so I went and got stuff for tonight and tomorrow morning.

Does the corn dogs from there taste just as good? I have never purchased food from dollar tree, only items. I had fish sticks yesterday.

they were state fair brand. the same brand you get from the grocery store.
