I got mixed responses on yesterday's post in this series. Which I get, not everybody likes Grown Ups. I happen to think it's a good movie. It's one I've probably seen a hundred and fifty thousand times. Ok, maybe not that many but there was a time where I didn't have cable or wifi and had to rely on the DVD's I had. Just ask @moffittjc he made fun of me for my expansive collection of DVDS. Anyway, on to the second one in this delightful list of movies. Spanglish! I feel like this is another one that people are going to have issues with. It isn't one that people usually think of when they think of Adam Sandler, and that's probably because at the time it was one of the more serious roles he had done, or I had seen him in. Spanglish stars Adam Sandler, Tea Leoni and if I'm not mistaken Cloris Leachman. Sandler and Leoni hire a Spanish maid, and after she begins working for them the couple realize she is having a hard time balancing work and caring for her daughter as a single mother. As you would imagine, the two cultures clash and things get interesting. Sandler's character learns a lot about himself and his own family as well as the maid and her cultures. It's not your usual Adam Sandler movie, but it is worth checking out. It's for sure a romantic comedy, but it isn't really Sandler's usual brand of comedy. Have you seen Spanglish? What did you think of it?
Spanglish: Directed by James L. Brooks. With Adam Sandler, Téa Leoni, Paz Vega, Cloris Leachman. A woman and her daughter emigrate from Mexico for a better life in America, where they start working for a family where the patriarch is a newly celebrated che

Barrymore. And I've seen that too many times. I'm not big on romantic comedies anyway.

Did I really make fun of you for having like 3000 DVD's? lol I loved the Grown Ups movies, I could sit and watch them over and over every day. An All-Star comedic cast, something that is not easy to pull off in Hollywood. But they all were perfect together in the movies! I didn't hate Spanglish, but it wasn't my favorite Adam Sandler movie. It was just....different.
