Natick Elementary School custodian Mark Plant will simply say as a modest person that he and a fellow cafeteria employee named Emily DeOliveria were just doing their jobs to take care of the students who were inside of a cafeteria yesterday afternoon when a student whose age was not revealed other than the gender of the choking victim was a boy.
Both Emily and Mark took turns using the Heimlich maneuver to get the food object out of the mouth of the boy before it would be too late.
The good news is that the young boy is safe and sound. The parents of the boy are grateful that both Emily and Mark saved their child.
The boy is happy to go back to school the next day after his near death experience inside of the cafeteria on Tuesday.
Even heroes can be custodians and cafeteria employees since protecting the life of a person under their watch is their top priority.

I'm glad Emily and Mark knew what to do.

I agree with you since the hours of learning the art of first aid paid off.
