I got an email today for my middle child’s teacher of there book club during class. I’m not sure about the details since this is the first I’m hearing of it but I’m guessing this is how they do small group reading where they pick a book and they all read the same one like you would in a book club and probably take turns reading out loud and talking about the book.

They kind of have to since it’s part of what his teacher wants them to do in class so they kind of have to do it. They do have a Chat in Chew in school it’s run by the principal the kids read individual and meet at lunch every 2 weeks. My kids don’t sigh up for they are not into that.

@yoalldudes two out of my 3 kids have learning disabilities it’s very common for us with LD to not like to read or want to read. The tasks itself can be stressful especially when you have to do it with others and can’t pick the book. We also some times like something will start reading it and get bored so the book has to keep the interest. Which is why I don’t push my kids to read. They do read regularly as need for school and during the summer but I allow them to pick and find a book with in there levels and interests so it’s not a wast of money. Also thee time they read is a lot shorter then other kids there ages.

@ShyBear88 I hope it brings in fun to learning not the other way around. I see booktubers who say the reason they didnt like the book and tier ranked it lower was it was compulsary reading in middle school.

That's good for your daughter to join a book club. However, the advantage is the some if not most of the members aren't reading the books.

That’s not my daughter! I also never said the gender of my middle child so it’s not good to assume he is a girl. One he didn’t join this is part of his class if he wanted to join he would have with the Chat and Chew. This is just what the teacher calls small group reading which all of the kids have to do.

@Nakitakona what did you hurt? Maybe next time just ask it never hurts to ask oh is your child a boy or girl? I do have three kids and I can tell them a part and I do have a daughter in the grade above my middle son and I also have a younger son.

@ShyBear88 Sorry for I'm guessing or assuming it. It's my fault I would rather skip this so as not to indirectly hurt you. Sorry.

That would be a good way for the kids to interact with each other.

His teacher does a lot of things like this, coming up during the first week of June they are doing a camping week where each day is a theme for camping. It seems like they are going to fo bottle rockets one day with the things she asked for parents to bring in.

I'm missing about book clubs "book lovers" in our end. I was a librarian in which I started a book lovers club.

I don’t care for book clubs there is always that one person that doesn’t actually read the book. Tried it once after having kids hates it worse then mommy and me classes.

@ShyBear88 I don't know right now if there's still book clubs, since most of the libraries concentrated not on the actual books but for the digital books.

@luisga814 you know you don’t need a library for a book club?
