I started the dishwasher, and then I decided to go tell a neighbor that lives toward the south edge of the complex from me about Angel. We walked by her apartment a lot. She knew Angel, and I was "friends" with her two older pugs, male and female. I knocked on her door and told her about Angel, and she invited me in. We had cake and coffee, and we talked about our dogs. Both the pugs wanted attention from me, so I gratefully petted them both a lot. The lady fed them both "breakfast", and while the male went and gobbled his up, the female wouldn't--she hung out by me. My friend said that the female pug was always resistant to eating her food. Just shows how different dog personalities are: Angel was all about food, and the dog I had before her got picky about certain things: ie: if we fed him dog food called "country stew", he would manage to eat everything but the peas, which got left in the bottom of his bowl. I did a lot of doggie petting while we talked, and she gave me some meat and mushrooms from her freezer/refrigerator that she'd gotten from a food service. She told me she didn't eat meat, and she didn't like mushrooms. I finally left, and when I got outside it had warmed up considerably! Upon getting home, the dishwasher was still going, and I finally put Angel's living-area bed, which had several big blood spots on it, in a large garbage bag and took it to the dumpster. Little by little I'm doing things.

That's a good conversation with your neighbour.

It's going to take time and it's not going to be easy. Losing a loved one, even if it's a beloved pet, is going to be a process. She's at peace now, and you did the best for her.
