Evidence Asked to be Thrown Out in Ruggs Case

Ruggs Crash Scene

I read this morning though this was posted a few days ago that the lawyers for Henry Ruggs, are trying to get his blood alcohol content thrown out of court. The lawyer is stating that there was no probable cause to give the test therefore it doesn't have the right to be evidence in this case. The argument being made is that a car accident and a death is enough probable cause every time. The result of the blood test found that Ruggs was two times over the legal limit when the crash happened. No, I don't think the lawyer will win this battle and he shouldn't. If he does then I really wonder about the system. They also want fire department reports, the angle which they're going for with that is that the Fire department was slow to put out the engulfed vehicle. Speaking as a firefighter even though I'm only volunteer, we aren't slow, we're safe. That irritates me. Henry Ruggs was charged with felony driving under the influence, reckless driving, and misdemeanor gun possession. Currently he's under house arrest in Las Vegas hooked to a gps ankle moniter as well as an alcohol monitor. Ruggs was going 156 mph and crashed into a Toyota killing Tina Tintor (23) and her dog, Max. *picture from google

The evidence they are asking to be thrown out is the nail in the coffin on this case, so of course they are going to try and get it tossed. Unfortunately-for better or worse—this is the type of back and forth game attorneys play as cases proceed through the court system.

I think it's money being thrown around. He was a star last year and I know he would probably only be better on the field this year and this wouldn't just mean he'd go to jail but he'd end up loosing his contract with the Raiders.

@JordanLader I agree with you on money being thrown around. It happens quite a bit, especially with people who can afford to throw money around!

@moffittjc True. I hope he gets the book thrown at him and he serves the max. I'm sorry but he was stupid and it costs someone their life, he needs to pay for it. To throw money around to fix it just makes it worse
