I don't feel close to my dad

Since childhood I feel that way to my dad. I find it hard to approach him. I cannot tease him or joke with him. We never had a long conversation just short question and answer.
It's very different with my mom. I'm very talkative when I'm with my mom. I feel comfortable with her.
Also my father always seems angry when you approach him. Are you very close with your dad? I feel this at this time I can't talk to him comfortably but he is old I will try my best to talk to him often

I told her about that she just say that my grandfather is also like my father don't talk to their children often

My father was angry, when I was a younger child. He would get upset, even over small things that didn't matter. Then, my father gave his heart to the Lord, when I was 14 years old. He started serving God and became a kind, loving father. Pray for your father to be saved, every day. He's miserable, like my Dad used to be! Now, my father is in heaven

I see that is a wonderful change of your father. I know he will not be comfortable talking to him often I just respect what he wants

Sorry for feeling that way with your father. Maybe you can ask him if it is ok to have a good talk with him. You need to try. As for me, I am very close both my father and mother because I always tell them my feelings whatever it is and they listen to me.

@averygirl72 My parents don`t talk to us too but we are the one reaching out to them. My parents are both busy doing their jobs in order to send us to school and have food on our table. I don`t see any problem doing something to get their attention

@m_audrey6788 My youngest sister is most comfortable with my dad. She can say whatever she likes to say. It feels strange that you feel like your father is a stranger

I lost my dad when I was only 11. He played with me a lot. I still remember at Christmas Eve, he put a gift next to my pillow when I was asleep. I was so excited when I saw the gift upon wake-up. I really believed in Santa Claus at that time. Your dad may be the serious type. He is getting old. Try your best to talk to him.
