US inderpendence day

United States

It is interesting just having marked my 5th year living here in the united states how many things are just weird and wrong from a foreigner's perspective. America that being the United States of America specifically celebrates independence day a whole month before the actual day. July 4th was the signing of the document however it was not the official law of the land until August 2 of 1776 And then not actually agreed in treaty until September 3rd, 1786 by a peace treaty signed in Paris, France between a US dignitary and representative of King George of England. SO on August 2nd get out your stars and stripes and wave your flag high because the Declaration was officially Law. And remember that September 3rd is Freedom day when The United States was officially free and independent from the rule of The United Kingdom. And ironically the Black people of America had to wait almost another Hundred years before their freedom was officially recognized. So this August 2nd when you are playing at the beach or reading a book or working just think the founding fathers were passing that official document through congress to grant you as a person of the United States the freedom of rule of King George of England and all future rulers of Great Britain. On September 3rd when you are getting ready to send your kids to school for a new school year the first leaders of this great nation were in Paris signing a peace treaty with a mighty ruler of great Britain. When you go to the polls this November ask yourself Do you want more RED blood spilled and your rights as a people removed one law at a time? Or are you going to fight with your vote for Peace and BLUE and save our independence once again? In the words of Benjamin Martian: "Will we be ruled by a Tyrant 10,000 miles away and live as slaves to the crown or will we rise up and rule ourselves with a rule of government a few miles away."

being a noncitizen and only a resident I am not. However, My wife is and she and I have like-minded thinking when it comes to politics. Also, my Eldest step daughter who will be 18 in February next year will be eligible to vote at the presidential election in 2024

It is really hard to choose the right leader. That`s why we really have to study each candidate before deciding. A good leader is not perfect but choose the one who have a good heart to people

Its not really all that hard to choose the right leader. The hard part comes to getting all to choose the right leader. Sad to say some people follow the historical patterns of their previous generations and choose to vote the same way their parents or grandparents voted rather than being informed and making the decision for themselves. This is why some states are falling behind the 8 ball when it comes to economic recovery and others are booming. Take Minnesota which is where I live. its a booming economy because of the actions of the leaders of the state and using the funds they get from the federal government wisely. On the other hand, Kentucky who has had poor leadership for years because of the people who return to the office every election because they have voted one way all their lives. Unemployment in Kentucky is some of the highest in the country. To lower the deficit of the country takes more than just cutting spending. You have to grow the economy, not by raising taxes but rather by increasing wages and increasing productivity creating more taxes without increasing taxes on those who are the least able to pay.

A lot of Americans deny our true history but there is also a lot of people that come here and know that and will try to break the country up. Makes it hard for people to decide who is who but all people have to do is read and find teachers, but that is another thing about America, people so tired after a long day of work, most do not have the luxury.
