Everybody has heard of the famous liner Queen Elizabeth that sailed the seven seas for close to 50 years. It was due to be scrapped but a rich Arab sheik from Dubai bought it and brought the ship to Dubai port and anchored it there. A lot of money was spent on the ship and it was renovated and converted into a luxury hotel and restaurant complete with a bar and other amenities. When I was in Dubai I had the occasion to visit this lovely floating hotel which has an entrance fee of 100 AED. The ship is kept intact as it was and it's a pleasure to go from deck to deck and see the ship. It also has a duty-free shop where you can buy liquor. The cabins on the ship have been renovated and form part of the floating hotel. One can book a room there and spend time with your loved one. On the deck there is a wonderful restaurant that serves you exotic alcoholic drinks and cocktails and one can get some sumptuous treats to eat but mind you they are heavy on the pocket and you must be prepared to shell out money without cribbing. This is the beauty of Dubai an exotic place where you can spend time and money and live the highlife. For those who are interested the ship displaces 70,000 tons and could carry 1800 passengers with the crew of over 1000.

I was wondering what did happen to the famous liner Queen Elizabeth 2 which I believe is the largest ship to cross the Panama Canal.
