Defending America AGAINST Lawrence O'Donnell's imagined ''Democracy''

Recently, Lawrence O'Donnell (THE LAST WORD with ...) whined that laws in Philadelphia 'are DESTROYING the United States of America' (or at least demolishing the house-of-cards ol' Larry was living-in). But that house WAS imaginary, and Jason (Siler? of Blue Collar Logic) explains a few reasons why that is ... problems that are solved by The Electoral College. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hAWbyxQ51k (if you don't want to sit through Jason's explanation; it's basically 'that each district has an equal vote, though some districts have more people in them than other districts'---which explains why "republicans haven't won a Presidency by majority-vote in 18 years" (though there have been a couple Republican Presidents in that time)). Jason also tells us why we WANT that---so that 'popular (with a lifestyle that "the popular people" prefer)' doesn't "run rough-shod" over 'unpopular (and not comfortable with the popular lifestyle).' That's the democracy I want to live in---ruled by ALL people, the majority AND the minority! '... where the two wolves and the lamb vote on what's for lunch, but the lamb is armed (with logic ... maybe "reasons for the wolves to turn vegetarian").'
