This is the plantain florescent from Singapore is growing well. The bananas are very sweet when ripe but the flower is very bitter. In Bengal we cook the flower of raw banana in different ways and it tastes good. It's also full of iron and good for health. It's going to turn out to be a heavy bunch and so I shall have to cut down some when they are raw and fully formed. Do you like banana flowers.

I know Rajasthan is hot and you need lots of water to grow bananas. In Bengal we eat the flower and the inner stem of the plant too. We use coconut.
