My FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out ... or maybe FOBI (Fear Of Being Ignored?)) reveals something about the People who make me feel 'Ignored'

And yes, I'm talking about "Twitter-activity"; and yes, I know "you probably don't USE Twitter"; but I'm not talking about "you" I try to build-up my followers-list to the size of celebrities' followers-lists (tens-of-millions), and I hear that one of the strategies people try there is to 'follow' lots of Tweeps & hope for a lot of 'follow-backs.' But I don't think that's a strategy that famous people use! I don't "know" this; but I can only imagine ... they actually get famous FIRST, and they get a huge Twitter-following by doing nothing-more-than-joining Twitter (which I hear is actually their LEAST FAVORITE social-network) https://www.newsweek.com/twitter-celebrities-least-favorite-social-platform-elon-musk-buy-1701104 But I STILL follow them (if I happen across the Follow-button for the account of 'someone I've heard-of'), and then I go and "wonder why they don't follow back" My conclusion is basically this: When you focus on doing something that's really worthwhile (so worthwhile that your work attracts millions of audience-members), you aren't able to divide your attention between 'your work' and 'the people watching you work.' I think of Stephen Colbert (who has over 19-million followers, but only follows 51 of us) ... tho I'm sure there are HUNDREDS of celebrities I follow who don't follow me!

It is pretty hard for normal folks to catch up to their notifications. I would imagine even more do for these celebrities. But keep on doing you thing you might get lucky. You can try mentioning them in something interesting and see if that catches their attention.

I use Twitter to pass on the posts and my blogging I write, and I pass on blogs and articles I think are of interest, Otherwise, I do not really go on Twitter to sit there and see what is happening I might do that a couple of times a month,

It doesn't bother me how many followers I have on Twitter. I just like to read political tweets and music tweets.

I can relate to what you are saying since many sports stars that I follow do not follow me much less give me a thank you note for tweeting them advice to do their work to the best of their ability and be happy.
