Baby island went away

Too bad! Unfortunately the baby island I talked about in the last post has been eroded away by ocean waves. We will just have to watch that spot to see if it pops up again. Or, another possibility, other small islands around the big one. Volcanic islands are just the tips of undersea volcanoes anyway, so if there is an eruption from the side of one of them, it can turn into what looks like an extra island, but it's really a vent of the old one. Ioto (formerly IwoJima) is two volcanic vents joined by a sandbar, surrounded by small fingers of magma at the edges of the underwater caldera, so we can get eruptions nearby pretty easily! Poor baby island, maybe he will be back.

Maybe the island hid for the time being, one day he will emerge unexpectedly, hard to say.I just knew the small islands in sea were changeable, likely move or hide years later.

It depends on water erosion and uplift.

I hope it will, or another one nearby. So interesting.
