Love your Parents

Today's generation seems so self-consumed. I know this same issue has occurred since the beginning of time. It just seems more prevalent with the ease of access to smart phones and tablets, etc. I don't know of any place you can go and not see people with their faces homed in on their phones. I have talked to many elderly people and they are just so sad because they feel forgotten. Their kids and grandkids have no time for them. Yet, these older people have so much love and wisdom to give. I miss my parents. I wish, daily, I had spotted the health signs that led to their deaths. I wish I could have done more for them. The years that my husband and I lived in a different town from my parents, we always used our vacation time to go home. When we lived close, we would visit often. Spending time with our parents was a joy. I hope that society one day realizes that relationships with the ones who loved you most are the most fulfilling. If your parents are still alive, spend time with them. If you had faithful, devoted parents, make sure they know that they are loved and appreciated.

Denise, you are so right about this! My parents are gone, too, and though I got to see my mother pretty regularly when she was still alive, my father lived quite a distance from me, and I only saw him about once or twice a year. I hope people that still have their parents will appreciate them more while they're still alive.

I never love my parents, they're the slaves under CCP's tyranny, they lived in the poverty, slavery and terror, they even can't give themselves a good life. But they bring me to this hell-China,i really hate them. They just don't want only themselves to be Communist slaves, they need someone to share this suffering,so they made me. I will curse them everyday,if they never bring me to China,i'll never live like a ghost,i'll never undergo all of this suffering and fear.I'll never taste the despair under the CCP's tyranny. All of my unfortunate fate,it's all because of my parents. If i had choose,i wish i never be born in China,i wish i never had these two psychotic parents. They really ruin my life and push me into the hell.If they're American poor parents,i won't blame them,i will use my talent and sweat to build my dreamland. But in China-this Communist Slavery Country, this thing never will happen.

I realized after my parents passed (dad in 2016 and mom in 2019) that I did not spend enough time with them in their latter years. I was so wrapped up with my own kids that time with my parents became almost an afterthought. It didn’t help that I lived 5 hours away, although that is not an excuse. I loved them dearly, but never thought they could be taken from me in an instant. So I agree with everything you said.
