Could a Plane Crash in the remote Canadian North Island ; near the North Pole in early 1950s have something so devilish and so disturbing that it stirs a lot almost 50 years later? What is the mystery that has both the US and the Russian Governments getting nightmares? What kind of a cold war secret is involved? And what if something that can cause Mass destruction and chaos gets into the hands of an International Arms/Terror group? Doesn't that sounds perfect for a fast paced, full of twists, turns, shocks and surprises Action Thriller! This is what the Robert Ludlum inspired series - Covert One novel "The Arctic Event" . This was 1st published by Orion in UK in 2007. The main protagonist is the Covert One operator Jon Smith who is against some unknown enemies as well as the Freezing and uncertain Polar Weather- which by itself becomes a big challenge. The mission problems are compounded by an adversarial insider and a standby but unofficial force sent by Russians as well. Of course, the Good triumphs in the end. The novel makes for a gripping read although at times, the terms used could be very familiar to Army/Air Force folks but not to everyone. Overall a great read! @CarolDM Hopefully you would be able to do more things with more recovery. Is your Doctor nearby or do you have to drive or take a cab?

Book reading is entertaining. You're like watching a movie especially book authored by Robert Ludlum. I have read one or two his books.
