Thanks to the teamwork of the firefighters from Chesapeake Fire Department, Norfolk Fire And Rescue Department, Hickory Towing, Chesapeake Anima Service and Doctor John Sangenario of Dominion Equine, they were able to get a female horse named Patches who fled from the home of the owner on Sunday evening who had bad luck in trapped in a ditch in south Chesapeake on Monday morning.
The good news is that by the time that the teamwork of the firefighters as well as the animal service officials were able to get Patches out of danger, Patches was able to stay on her feet one hour after she was rescued.
Patches will be needing some medical attention due to her time being stuck in the ditch since when she ran away from home, due to the darkness she most likely fell into a ditch which caused her owner to call for help to the authorities when she realized her horse was not at home.
These kinds of good news stories show that teamwork in rescuing a horse that could have passed away due to starvation and thirst was avoided.

Since it must have been very dark, the horse did not see the ditch on the side of the road.

Probably due to the dark area where she ran on the road when she escaped being inside her home.

A real super team effort to save a horse from dying by thirst and starvation.

The best part is that she will be making a full recovery from her injuries when she fell into a ditch.

I am very happy as well since I do not like to see a horse get hurt being stuck in a ditch either.

The fleeing horse has a name. What about his owner? And why Patches ran away from home? Horses in stable won't run away unless they're driven out.

I guess that the owner must have opened the gate for a small period of time by accident and the horse ran away taking advantage of the open gate.

@Deepizzaguy Maybe... that would be possible. That's a gross negligence.
