In Jalore temple there is idol of turtle which is worshipped.

Idol of turtle is kept at the entrance of temple in Jalore. The turtle is worshipped with Lord Vishnu. As the life of turtle is very long, the presence of turtle signifies longevity. Also the shell of turtle also helps it to defend against danger, so other living beings can learn from there the art of defense system.

I am aware of the tradition that keeping golden or golden colored turtle idols can bring wealth in the house.
