I went to the outdoor daycare--I took the bus part way and walked the rest of the way. Because I forgot both my camera and my phone, I didn't know the time, and I didn't get the message the director left me about waiting outside the preschool yard until she got there, and I think I made a couple of people uncomfortable. Then I wasn't familiar with the way the school did things, and the director had to tell me about something once. Not so much like she was mad at me, but to me it's embarrassing when the boss has to tell you to do something a different way. I felt a little bit like I was walking on eggs, though the director never came and told me about anything again. I asked another teacher I was working with about some things, and she said she didn't really know 'cause she'd only worked there a day or two. It did kind of make me feel better that I wasn't the only one who didn't know what I was doing. Another employee there told me he'd been there about a week, if I recall right, so I got the impression things are just starting out. I remember the director saying to someone something about my being there Wednesdays when they had their staff meetings. I hope after today she didn't change her mind. Working one day a week for five hours is much better than nothing for the time being. Tonight I am going to sleep well, that's for sure.

It takes time to get used to new surroundings.

Hopefully I'll get used to it one of these days.
