A remote sub-polar region Freezing Island. A Scientist gone dead mysteriously.
A scientific UN sponsored team with scientists from various countries but many with a Nazi Past/mindset and unknown secrets.
Well, that sets the stage for the movie adaptation of Alistair MacLean's 1971 novel: The Bear Island.
This movie was directed by Don Sharp and starred Donald Sutherland, Vanessa Redgrave, Richard Widmark, Christopher Lee and Lloyd Bridges.
The scientific team sets a base on this remote Norweigian island : Bear Island.
However, there are some people who get killed. There are some accidents and a few people are discovered with ulterior motives.
Of course, the protagonist played by Sutherland overcomes the bad guys and restores sanity.
Overall, the movie is a fine watch but nothing much spectacular except for a few action scenes. Wikipedia shows that the movie did not fare well enough and received criticism for a not so good acting as well as dullness in the overall scheme of things.
My say: watch it if you like such Science-Action-Advetures and the look of snow all around!

I think that somehow it lacked flashiness and somewhere lacked in proper acting by a key actors.
Yet I didn't find it that bad either.

I think that certain things like acting were lacking.
Plus there was some dullness overall that might have caused a lack of interest in the movie.

@CarolDM
I found a few moments in the movie quite good and not as bad as in the review.
