The snake gourd plantations require less sunlight

In Jalpaiguri the snake gourd plantations are grown which are called chichinge in bengali. They are cooked as vegetable. There are leaves which are tied and a macha is created which prevent heavy sunlight penetrating the agricultural lands. There are lovely greenery from both sides of the agricultural lands.

My mother used to grow gourds. She dried them cut then in two halves and used them to hold dried corn, dried beans, dried apples.
