Lord Ganesha the elephant God is worshipped by Hindus in India for 10 days. The Hindus clean up their houses. Then they give lovely alpona or rangoli with rice husk. For 10 days the idols of Lord Ganesha are offered fruits and flowers and mantras are chanted for the puja.

Why is the Elephant God worshiped?

thanks Ruby the Elephant God was the son of Lord Shiva. According to mythology when he was created the body was functional but the brain was yet to be created, so the creator put the face of elephant, and that was how he looked. He is the God of wealth, business prosperity
