New Month, Improved Goals.

I don't want to title this "New Month, New Goals" because they're not new goals, they're just improved goals. Edit: I just realized this is going to be a lengthy post, just for warning. I've mentioned before that I love to write in journals and planners, and I recently had the idea to start a work/writing-related journal (and save the personal stuff for my main journal). My older sister had a bunch of smaller journals that she had bought on clearance a while back, so she gave me one, which is pictured on this post. It has grid paper instead of lined or blank paper, which is fine by me. I'll be using it for goals, scheduling, project management, etc. Whatever I need to do to keep myself on track each month. Sooo, I wanted to share my monthly goals, which I'll start on today. I'm just going to do the work amount, not montary goals, as I do like a little privacy haha. -- Freelance Writing: 8 to 65 Textbroker orders per week, depending on the word count (the higher the count/price, the less I'll need to do, hence the wide range). I need to think more on this goal because I didn't properly label it in my journal, so I was confused looking back at it. I'll include Fiverr in the count when applicable, as that depends on my ongoing clients. -- Fiverr: I don't have a set goal because, as I said, it depends on my clients. However, my goal is to NOT wait until the last minute to get started on my projects. Sometimes, I get wrapped up in my Textbroker orders (TB pays twice a week, Fiverr pays every 2 weeks from when your order is accepted), but I really need to put more focus into my Fiverr gigs. -- MyLot: 8 to 12 posts per week, as well as interacting (notifications and others' posts) when my schedule allows for it. -- Survey Websites: I would love to qualify for at least 5 surveys per week, but I'm not going to be as strict on this one because my work comes first. Plus, some of those surveys are so tedious. -- I'm also including my writing blog, which I started to share my love for writing and journey as a freelance writer. It's not going to have any affiliate links or whatnot. There is a link to my "Link Tree" -which includes my Fiverr profile- so maybe I can gain clients that way. But otherwise, it's just for fun and to keep the gears in my head turning. Anywho, I want to write 8-10 original posts and reblog 4-5 other posts (i.e., motivational quotes) per month. It'll vary per week. Starting today, I'll also use my journal to keep track of how many orders I do per week/month, so I can see how well I did with my goal. I know setting goals isn't a big deal to others, but it works for me. I'm hoping this helps with my focus and motivation. Fingers crossed lol! Anywho, I need to get some work done before I run to the store for dog food and sparkling water lol. Take care, everyone! :) Photo Credit: My sister snapped it when showing me the journals she has in her collection, and that's the one I chose. :)

Thanks! I'm trying to make little improvements, and working toward goals rather than a schedule may be what does it. I think I've always responded better to goals. The work schedule can come later; I have it written in my work-related journal.

That's how I am. I like to set a goal, and try to reach it every month. It helps me stay motivated, and sometimes I surprise myself with what I actually end up accomplishing.

Right! I was just telling someone else, I think I respond better to setting a weekly goal; writing it down and then working toward it.

@tammys85 Sometimes smaller more manageable goals are the best thing.

@kaylachan Definitely. It gives you a feeling of accomplishment, and it can motivate you to work toward a bigger goal.

That's some list of goals Tammy. I'll be happy to average 10-15 posts/comments a day depending on my work/volunteering schedule, starting this month. I don't have one for Hub Pages (will do a post about my return to HP this weekend) or one for Upwork lately. But I do have a writing-related daily goal for writing, editing, and outlining/brainstorming for my two WIPs lately. More power to you.

My advice, if you want it, would be to set realistic goals, and base them on your work and volunteer schedule. Thank you so much!

@KristenH Just set a realistic, doable goal, if you want to set any goals at all. You don't have to if you don't want to, of course.

@tammys85 Sure Tammy. I would keep it in mind. You're welcome. I would try to set up a goal for job training starting next week like increased my speed by 5-10% in the first two days. I don't think I can go full throttle though.
