My barfis turned sticky maybe because of the dates.

I wanted to utilize my leftover cottage cheese and so planned to make some Indian sweets. I made a paste of cottage cheese, coconut, cashew and dates and stirred them dry with sugar over the flame. That's how we make the Indian 'barfi'. The barfis does taste good so I won't call I failed but they feel sticky on my hands. Maybe it's because of the dates which are sticky.

Looks good. I have made a similar recipe but without the cottage cheese. Mine turn out sticky when I don't cook it quite long enough.

In Bengal we call this 'Binod Balav'. The sweet is offered to Lord Krishna during Holi. Only that they don't put date paste.

It tastes delicious. I used date paste which is usually not mixed in it. I could have topped the barfis with date paste instead.
