I Wonder ... Do Broadcasters Pay as much for Re-Runs as they do for Premiere Episodes?

That comes to mind because--I started with myLot thinking each post had to be 'new and different' (like articles in a magazine)--I look at the Most Recent Discussions and see several 'It's a Great Day, myLot!'s or 'Ate a Meal again's or various other discussions that are more like 'Tweets.'
And I guess those kinds of posts are doing well-enough, because people keep on posting such posts (I'm not using any statistical anaIysis to consider ... I think the only judgement was 'we earn credit when others of us interact with this; so I'll go and interact with "whatever they post" and hopefully they'll interact with "whatever I post" (as long as it's inviting for them).'
But what confirms my belief that broadcasters don't have to pay as much for re-runs is the fact that "tubi" has-over 40,000 movies on their streaming-menu and -a ton of old TV-shows (like a lot of local TV-stations do/did), and they're FREE (for us, as long as we'll 'let the commercials play').

'Premier' episodes have to earn enough to pay for themselves. Reruns are already paid for (creating them) therefore they do not have to make up any money.

I never really thought about it. But goask Alice gave the answer.

Are we allowed (or maybe even encouraged) to do that? Respond with reference to other responders?
I could probably do that with all the discussions that already have some responses: "I never really thought about that ... but they give you a good answer below
"
