Wasn't a Facebook-Poke Originally Something You Could Only Do from your friend's Profile?

I thought a 'poke' on Facebook was a quick way of saying "I looked at your profile," but now if somebody pokes me it takes me to a page like 'this' (linked below), where I'm given TWO LISTS: one list of people who 'poked' me, and one list of 'people I might want to poke!'
https://www.facebook.com/pokes/
Granted, I CAN 'go to each of their profiles' if I want to be "honest" about 'the true meaning of "the poke"'; but--right next to each of the suggested names (linked to their profiles)--there's a "Poke"-button!
Honestly, I don't even know if there's a 'Poke'-link ON friends' profiles anymore!

If you can't use the URL I put up there; go to facebook, and search for "poke" in the search-bar at the top-corner.

@Neil43 Well, 'friends' are the only ones you WANT to 'poke' (who accept your 'poke' and 'poke' you back), but it might let you 'poke' any Facebook-user who doesn't BLOCK 'pokes.'
