This morning's Church service.

I went to Church this morning again. I wore a black dress but it looked more like navy when I put my black cardy next to it. It had a button to fasten at the back which I couldn't reach so I had to get my Mum to fasten it for me. My weather app said no chance of rain so I wore my cardy without a coat. When I got to Church the lady had already remembered my proper mug so I didn't have to ask for it. When the service started we had a bit of reflection on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and we had a video from one of the leaders of the network of Churches to which we belong reflecting on the death of the Queen and calling on us all to pray for King Charles III and the rest of the royal family, and also the new Prime Minister. We had some worship songs and then a guy called Gordon came and led us in a moment of prayer and reflection. Then our Pastor, Steve, preached, and his sermon was titled Reset. It was about resetting our goals and priorities. He was talking about the fact that now we live stream the services which we never did before the pandemic. He said next week he's going to get very tech savy and it's going to be interactive or something. I don't know what that means! After that we had a few more songs and then we went home. I went home before my Mum and I said to her, I'll have to wait till you get back before I take my dress off because you'll need to undo my button! My Mum got a lift home with a friend called Dawn because Frances hasn't got her car at the moment. Dawn gave Frances a lift home too. When they got to our house they were standing on the doorstep chatting for ages! I got my Mum to undo my button and I went and changed out of my dress. When I came back they were still on the doorstep chatting. I was watching TV. The coffin of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was being taken slowly from Balmoral to Edinburgh and it was going to take 6 hours! Meanwhile the Proclamation of the new King was being shown from Scotland, Ireland and Wales. In Cardiff the Proclamation was given in both English and Welsh which I really enjoyed. What have you been doing today?

@sharonelton We started our Church service with a moment’s silence and prayer of thanksgiving for Elizabeth and a prayer for Charles and the family. Now we’re going to the house of one of our 5 kids for a birthday party for my wife - she was sixty last Saturday.

@sharonelton coping with all the noise and rushing about is not easy but it’s lovely.
