Rude Bill Collector

This morning I got a call from this really rude bill collector. She kept saying you're responsible it's in your name when the bill isn't just in my name, my cousin is on it too, she's the contact person, they have her email and stuff for billing, and it's at HER house. It is for cable tv and they didn't get their equipment back and sent me to collections but I literally took the box for the equipment to her house so it could be shipped back. This rude woman wanted the money right that second over the phone and kept threatening me if I didn't pay it on the phone that second. I told her the money would be there, my cousin is paying it and I can't do it by phone as she has the money and not me. This woman kept insisting I HAD to pay by phone right that second without listening to anything I was telling her about sending the equipment back and my cousin sending the money and they have to wait. I finally lost my temper and told her, the money is being sent you have to wait. It is already in the process I cannot pay it now when it's being sent another way already. I told her I am NOT paying it and not to call me anymore and asked her "what do you want me to do just then magically appear the money in my bank account right this minute so I can pay over the phone with my debit card?" I then said it's not happening today don't call me again and hung up. I am so sick and tired of these bill collectors that think they can just say whatever they feel like saying and badger you and demand things you can't do at the time of their phone call. I get sick of their threats and demands and I rarely even answer the phone for them, I only answered this one because I thought it was gonna be a company I was waiting for a call back from. They are as bad as the scammers at this point, it's ridiculous. And they are the worst for not getting the point of I have $0 I can pay you with right now what exactly do you want me to do, I cannot pay what I do not have. I don't get the point of demanding someone to do a thing that is, at that time, physically impossible. I have asked bill collectors before "Who do you think I am? Harry Potter? What I'm gonna make the money just fly into my account from some secret vault full of money?" It drives me nuts. I try not to answer their calls but if I accidentally do I have been very sarcastic and flippant with them. Does this bother anybody else this much?

I rarely if ever have to deal with them. They are convinced, that we have the money and are the ones being rude because we don't want to pay. I have told people off plenty of times.

@sickofbeingick22 Yeah. I went on and on with this one collector who wanted money I didn't have. They knew I continued to pay some cards and not others. And I was very frank with them. They closed my account, and in my opinion, their balance could wait until I had money to spare.

@kaylachan They also fail to realize that just because I have enough for this card and this other one doesn't mean I have enough for ALL of them. They act like they're the only bill we have and that we don't also have rent to pay as well, its just them. And if they see we can afford others and not them they assume we just literally didn't want to pay them when its really we ran out of money on the last bill and don't have enough for theirs now.

Yeah they are convinced its "No, I don't want to pay you even though I really have it" and not "I do NOT have your money, I'd pay you it if I had it" I have ceased to answer their calls unless they fool me and its closely related to say my doctor's number or something. I'll pay my bill the way that is easiest for me, WHEN I get the money and not before.

I've never heard of the possibility of sending money over the phone.

Over the phone as in she wants me to give out my debit or account number to her so she can pay the bill right that second. Not like you literally send the money by phone. I hate that they expect me to pay with a debit card number or account number by phone when said account is empty. Like no you can wait for me to use online bill pay or mail a check.

I've dealt with the You can't even reason with them. I was at the nursing home this year, sad as Bill collector was giving the little man, what for he b just hung. They called right back. He told them. We didn't get cut off. He said I hung up. They will not reason at all.
