On the day of Mahalaya many people do tarpan in the Ganges

On the day of Mahalaya many people in Bengal do tarpan in the Ganges. They collect black till and give water to the souls of ancestors in the holy Ganges river. Within 7 days from Mahalaya the famous bengali festival of Durga Puja begin. Navratri is also in place at the moment.

Even though I don't know what Mahalaya day is, but....happy Mahalaya day. I'm sure it's a special day.

thanks Aida on that day the Hindus offer holy water to the departed souls and ancestors. It is a kind of religious custom
