Okay, that's an overstatement; but it's SHAMEFUL how they buy into (and/or let their fans buy into) the MYTH that America is a democracy.
They keep saying that Republicans "threaten to destroy our democracy," and they say that as if it means 'throwing all citizens into slave-cages until our owners call on us to do their bidding';
But a) that is not at all what would happen if democracy were "destroyed" (at least the 'democracy' they're talking-about). Because 'the democracy they're talking-about' is "leaders being selected by citizens' plurality-vote" (I know, they usually say 'majority-vote'; but you don't need a 'majority' vote, you just need 'more votes than any other single candidate').
After they're put in office, they don't need to hear from the citizens again until they're up for re-election. In-between election & re-election (barring any crimes-committed); we citizens are the Public, and they politicians are the Re-Public.

                    I don't like the ones you mentioned above either. It is sickening how they twist everything.

                            iT IS how 'the entertainment system' works---identify 'the bad guy,' instantly aligning all the bad guy's enemies with 'good' (or vice-versa---name the good guys, making everyone against them "bad"), and then tell the story; then you can pick up and you know 'the good guys' did something right and 'the bad guys' did something wrong.
For example, "The Big Lie." Any MSNBC-fan (and maybe MSNBC-haters) know 'The Big Lie' is "the idea that the Democrats rigged the 2020 presidential election and that Trump actually won it."
On most of those shows, "Trump=Bad & Republicans=Bad" are pretty-much already assumed (just like (I hear) they were both "Good" on FOX NEWS and other 'Conservative' channels).
