Poem - Desecration I scribbled notes for poems on beer mats Big mistake as they barred me from the pub Tegestologists chased me off with bats And the tickers kicked me out of the club For trashing a sacred collectible Wicked crime against insobriety Unforgivable, unacceptable Ostracized from drinking society All I did wrong was to scrawl a quick note On the first bit of paper I could find Now all the drinkers want to slash my throat. A way to bring about peace sprang to mind I’ve scrawled apologies on another mat Hoping that will now be the end of that. Notes - Tegestology is Beer Mat Collecting.
