I got the waffle stitch crochet baby blanket done that I was working on. I picked up a gift bag and it is all packaged ready to drop off today when I'm in town. It is the fastest I've ever made a baby blanket and it may end up being my go to baby blanket stitch. It only cost me $30 in supplies also so it's even affordable. I explained to my daughter that there is a difference between what something costs and what something costs to make. I told her if I hand her 2 skeins ($15) of yarn, one of my hooks, and tell her I want a waffle stitch baby blanket she won't be able to do anything with that. But if you give me those same supplies I can turn that yarn and hook into a handmade baby blanket. That is why handmade crochet and knit projects cost more. Same goes for any handmade item. My goal is to get 10 baby blankets made up and ready for giving. At the end of the year I'll donate any blankets not given away and start from scratch for the next year. Also with having blankets made up and ready to gift I want to have them in different patterns so moms can look at them and pick the pattern they like and go shopping for a yarn they like also. This way the blanket it personalized to what they like. One of these days I'll remember to take photos and add them to my posts. Oh, and my mom loved her waffle stitch throw that I made her.

@fatragu I wonder why.If you are sourcing it from the internet you have to give the source. That source also should be a free source or give you permission to share.

The waffle stitch is a wonderful stitch for blankets. It will be nice to have a picture of your project.
