Ordering jewelry at Tanishq is a loss.

Never ever make the mistake of ordering jewelry at Tanishq. They charge too much both for the gold and the precious stones you buy from them. I went to Tanishq outlet in my city to get two gold rings made. One with a yellow sapphire for my index finger and the other with red coral for my ring finger. I have both the stones with me. They denied making the rings and wanted me to purchase the stones from them. For the yellow sapphire they were charging me more than Rs.30000 and gold for 10gms in India now costs a little above 47000 but for only 3gms of gold they would charge me 40000. So the total cost of the ring for my index finger comes up to Rs.70000. Totally an exorbitant price. I therefore went to another jewelry store and placed my order. It would cost me around Rs.42000. I would advice all my mylot friends never to order for jewelry making at Tanishq. They'll burn a hole into your pocket.

It's cheating the customers who know the value of gold.

@Sam_graphixer Yes, people do go there and I too did buy a pair of bangles last year but from whatever is there in their show case. If you order your own designed ornaments you get cheated.

Hmm, it is a Tata company. I expected it to be more on building products aligned with average Indian customers' capabilities. I guess the business tactics of this major shops are also changing rapidly due to cut throat competition.

Their tactics of competing will hit them back as a loss. No common man in India is that rich to purchase a 3gm finger ring shelling out Rs. 70000.

@Sojourn This Tata online ( Croma) hasn't reached our city. I think it won't survive as the people of Odisha are already fed up with the TATA group regarding their electricity rates. No one is interested to buy TATA cars too.

@aninditasen Yeah, the online retail shop of Tata (Croma) is also lagging to far behind, not a profit making venture.

I had a Yellow sapphire at home purchased by my husband from another jewelry shop. It was his hobby to collect precious stones.
