A Super-Important Fact to Remember when Studying The Bible

I watch a few Bible-Studies on TV--Shepherd's Chapel, The Potter's Touch, Concepts of Faith, Search for The Lord's Way-- and one that I just learned something important-from is Through the Bible with Les Feldick (Oklahoman farmer in the picture). Last night I watched that one, wondering 'Why do I watch this guy's Bible-Studies?' and something he told us answered my question. He said, "When you study a book of The Bible, it's important to remember 'who that book is being written to.' Oh, indeed it's all written for you; but the prophets whom God inspired didn't know that, and instead wrote the passages to-the Jews or -their fellow disciples etc. Do you remember that when reading a passage from The Bible?

I can't see this as a profound insight. I don't need an Oklahoman farmer for it. It's only logical, isn't it?

Maybe; but I (at least for me-personally) wanted to counter the repeated proclamation (of Shepherd's Chapel's introduction) that The Bible is "God's letter to 'me'."

I went from grade 6 to 7 to 8 in a Lutheran Private School we had Bible lessons and we went to church in the middle of the week on Wednesdays and I enjoyed that a lot, I still have the Bible my mom bought me to use at that time and it offers the chance to reread most of it by offering Bible passages to read each day, I skipped this year but I will do that again next year,
