QUANTUM LEAP (2022) Fan-Theory 'Debate' - Good- or Evil Leaper?

In a recent episode of QUANTUM LEAP, our Leaper (just before he Leaps into 'previews for next week's episode'
) is confronted with someone who says, “You made a serious miscalculation coming here, Ben. ('Ben,' not 'Diego' (the name of the guy he had Leapt into)) I know everything about you, Dr. Ben Song from the year 2022. I know what you’re doing, but if you value your life, you need to stop following me. Do you understand?”
Some people think (and I agree) that Dr. Song has run into another Leaper there. But I disagree with the idea that it's an "Evil Leaper" from the secret organization run by Lothos (Ziggy's evil counterpart) who's striving to put back WRONG what Sam made right.
I think/hope that it IS Sam, who I hope contined to Leap through time ("putting right what once went wrong") without the help of Al (whom he rescued from P.O.W. camp that got Al divorced because his wife thought he was killed in the war).
