Here in California, it's 11:35 a.m., so still morning. I've been texting and off and on the phone a good chunk of the morning. I never did have breakfast, so I'll be having lunch in a while. I unloaded the dishwasher and put the dishes in the sink into the dishwasher afterward. I did this with the help of one of my rolling chairs and the cane. One of the calls I made was to the Health Center, to ask exactly what I can do while my knee s messed up. So many people have been telling me "Do this", "Don't do that", "You don't need this, you just need this to help you walk." I figured I'd better ask an actual doctor what I can and can't do. I don't know when I'll hear back from them, but until then I'll just scoot around the apartment in one of my desk chairs and do the exercises I was given to do. I texted my brother about the rent money, and at first asked for a certain amount, and then with all the other stuff I forgot I'd be getting money from the rent of the house, so I texted him back and said I'd need $200 less than I'd originally asked for. I made a couple of texts and calls about renting/borrowing a wheelchair, since one thing I do know is that I'm supposed to stay off my knee as much as possible. One person I called, when I found out from another person that we have a wheelchair at the church, was the one who said, "You don't need a wheelchair, you just need your cane." then later she texted me back when her husband told her I could use the wheelchair. My thought is, If I'm supposed to stay off my knee, the cane isn't really going to help me do it. I had the brace with the icepack in it on my knee, but after about 20 minutes I was feeling the ice pack lose it's "cold", so I took the ice pack out and now I'm wearing the brace by itself. This post is getting a bit long, I guess, so I'll close and talk about other things in other posts.

What a shame. I hope your knee gets better. And, depending on how your apartment is set up, a wheelchair will give you more freedom. I'm happy to have mine.

I hope you get good advice from your doctor but the wheelchair sounds like a good idea. You can roll around to do what you need to do and keep the weight off your knee.

That is great to wheel around the house. Hope it don't cause you a lot of pain.

Sometimes common sense works. Is it necessary to rely always with your doctor? Some advices may be working.
