Well, that was a surprise...

I was sitting here at the computer when there was a knock at the door.
When I opened it an older lady was standing there with an envelope, which I saw had my old address on it. Sure enough, she was the lady that now lived in my childhood home.
We chatted for a bit, and she asked if I'd like to meet her husband, which I did.
Dummy me, when she started leading me toward the car, I went tromping out without the cane. For a second my knee felt unstable and I thought I'd fall, but thank the Lord I didn't. The husband seemed nice too, though a man of few words.
I didn't think I'd ever meet them--as my brother's the "landlord", and I've never seen them when I've visited the old neighborhood. I only wish they'd brought the dog my brother said they have.

Yes, I was glad to get to meet them. Thank you--I'm so glad I didn't fall on it, either.

@xstitcher I used to spring my ankle a lot but I haven't done that in a long time.

That's wonderful that you got a good neighbor. Our neighbors here are hard to be with.

That was nice of them to hand deliver your mail instead of readdressing it and popping it back in the mail.
