Again! and Again! and Again!

Good morning everyone! I am so happy to be back here ... I can't believe myLot and my old friends ... hopefully lots of new friends are still here. I truly am so happy to see you!
Skip (most of you know Skip is my husband, he and Camie (our Catahoula dog) are all I have left in my world) ... Skip and I went to our doctor appointments last week. We always schedule them on the same day to save on gas.
Skip had lost weight, he is 75 years old, and this appointment showed he was finally on an even keel. I am so grateful.
Well, I don't even have to say because you ladies know where all that weight our husband loses ... goes! Yes! 13 lbs of it went on my body! Oh my!
What makes it worse is ... I know I have to lose it ... my body is sabotaging me! I tell myself I'm not going to eat this or that. What happens? Somehow ... my body fools me ... makes me not know it is going to the kitchen to get something to snack on! I only become aware of what is happening when I become aware of a snack in my hand! Too late then!
I then tell myself ... okay this isn't the end of the world ... it really isn't! I will do better. What happens? I find myself snacking again! and again! and again! I recognize this cycle because I am one who yo-yos in weight.
Now ... I've 'been here' before. This isn't my first rodeo! So ... that means I AM going to crack down on my snacking ... be aware of how my body is good about fooling me until it's too late. Isn't it amazing how your body can just get up, go quietly into the kitchen where all the good stuff is ... decide what it wants to snack on, come back ... sit down ... and you aren't aware you moved ... until ...
You realize your mouth is crunching away happily ... your foot is patting ... you are just enjoying yourself while you put weight on! Oh my, my, my!
So ... here I am once again for the millionth time ... just before guarding my mouth ... willing my body to turn away from the fun place called 'kitchen' when I catch myself getting up to walk somewhere. I will have to be very aware!
No need to become upset by this weight gain ... this happens again! and again! and again!
I just need to lose it!

One of the ways that I guard against weight gain is to do some exercise with my feet under the desk while I am typing. I move my feet back and forth. This uses some calories and keeps the leg muscles strong. Maybe you can try it too!

@GrannyGee Then when you are good with this, you can put ankle weights on and use even more calories when you move your feet back and forth.
