Happy Breast Cancer Awareness Month

That may not mean a lot to some of you, but to us breast cancer survivors, it means a lot that we are still here and survived another year! Three years ago on October 24th, I found out I had breast cancer. It's odd to me that I found out during breast cancer awareness month. Since I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I have heard of many women here in my gated community have had breast cancer. I was disappointed that there was no official support group here because I needed the support. Well, Covid hit 3 months after my surgery and so I wasn't able to start a group. I felt led to start some sort of a group here once I was healed and Covid was over. It felt like a God thing. So today we met for lunch for the first time. Although 5 women were interested, only 3 of us were able to make lunch today. But 3 was a good start and a few people have told me they know of friends and neighbors who may be interested, so I hope our group gets a bit larger as we grow. Breast cancer supposedly affects 1 in every 8 women. And men can also get breast cancer. Do you know of anyone who has had or is currently battling breast cancer?

I do, but fortunately they all recovered. Were you having any symptoms before what I assume was a mamogram detected it?
