We have a newly built park next to our apartment complex that is just getting completed. They've made green patches and walking paths. This morning it had an interesting set of 'beings' walking as a large group - I could count more than 10 of them. Stray dogs! They walked as a pack together from the gate through for a full circle on the walking paths. And then they squabbled and fought like, well, stray dogs. Quite a bit of noise at 7 am. These stray dogs are a bit tricky, as they can bite without provocation. I hope this pack of dogs do not enter our campus. We've had incidents of stray dog bites in town and our campus has a lot of kids who play in the open areas.

How did the dogs manage to enter an enclosed area? Your photo shows a park encircled with wired fences.

There are gaps next to the gates at the entrance and the gates are also opened for allowing public usage.

@josie_ the gates are anyway open during the day for people to use. So the dogs may still get in.

@pitstop Closing those gaps could solve your problem. Dog bites especially from strays are not something to take for granted. Also the poo they leave behind would render the park unpleasant for strolling.

The lone stray dog is usually not much of a danger. They get aggressive when they are in packs.

@pitstop The last time I saw a pack, years ago, was because there was a b*itch in heat. A neighbor had to throw water to them all.

Yes. They lose fear when they are in packs and attack without provocation as they claim territories.

Maybe they are looking for food or just they are going to meet each other.

They are usually on the streets and scavenge for food from the bins and are fed by some people too. .
