Thursday, I think it was the third of this month, I received a text saying that I had been referred to physical therapy for my knee. Huh? My knee barely hurts, and I can walk on it just fine, so I called and asked why I needed PT. Today I got a phone call, and the young lady I spoke to said that the physical therapy was for my "knee pain". I still didn't get it, but evidently the doctor wants me to have it. Still not seeing the need for PT, I told the lady I don't drive, and the place they wanted me to go was the next town over. I could take the bus, but I don't know the town very well and would have no idea how to get there. She asked if I would like to have something here in Petaluma, where I live, and I said yes. She said she'd call back when she found out information about that. Sheesh...

Whenever you injure yourself, particularly in a joint, it's often a doctor's recommendation. PT can help the joint heal, and help build muscle around it so it's less prone to injury in the future. It's painful and a royal pain doing it, but I've had my fair share.

@xstitcher Not a problem. I've been through a lot.

Why would you need PT if you have nothing?

I don't know. I have osteo arthritis in my knee, but it barely hurts.

@xstitcher I have the same. But it hurts a lot. Maybe the doctor does not want to start hurting.

The PT will (hopefully) strengthen the muscles around the knee.

I do not understand why you need therapy if your knee does not hurt.

I don't understand why you need physical therapy if your knee isn't bothering you.
