A Powder Springs officer is being praised for doing his job to save a runner who suffered a heart attack while running on the Silver Comet Trail on Saturday afternoon.
Powder Springs Police Officer Carson Yates answered the emergency call from eyewitnesses who saw the runner collapse while running a marathon.
What I like about the actions of Officer Yates is that he spent around 10 minutes using his first aid skills of using CPR until the paramedics arrived when the heart attack victim came to his senses.
Of course Officer Yates had help from the other runners who did their part to make an attempt to revive the heart attack victim who was taken by an ambulance to a local hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.

@RubyHawk Heart attacks can kill quickly since the victim will have breathing problems.

I share the same feelings since every law enforcement officer that I know of never wants to see anyone die in their presence.
