Hi guys, Hope you guys are doing good. I am doing well too. I feel one of the very important aspect of our lives is also to give back to the society in whatever way possible. Today, it's "National Philanthropy Day". It was established in 1985 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals so that business as well as successful corporate personalities can contribute towards society for different causes. The word " Philanthropy" comes from Latin and Greek term called "Philanthropia" which means kindliness, humanity and love for mankind. The philantropists contributes to different causes like funds given for Scientific Research. The scholarships, grants given to students for higher studies, giving funds for upliftment of underprivileged, funding grants for local, national and international needs, providing grants for Art etc. There are lot of Philantropists in my country who contributes to society for solving some issues like that of Education, Hygiene, Poverty, establishing institutes in education and skill development, Medical Issues etc. One such Philantropist is Mr Ratan Tata who belongs to our parsi community. He has contributed so much to society by generating employment in different sectors, establishing Cancer Hospital which serves a lot of patients every year with free treatments etc. Ours is such community and it makes me feel proud to say that people are very hardworking, honest and has the quality to give back to the society right from old days till now. I believe that apart from such big personalities contributing lot to society, we too can do it in our capacity for giving back to society. The feeling is just amazing to contribute selflessly to society. Let me know your thoughts about it. Also mention the Philantropist you know in your country. Have a good day!! Take care!!
