Mylotters, the time had come to do another recipe report card for the month of October. Overall, all recipes turned out pretty well and tasted delicious for my score card. As the weather had gotten cooler and colder, all the soups and chilis had warmed me up to hit the spot. Here’s how it turned out with good reviews.
Grilled Lemongrass Chicken–A- Since I didn’t have lemongrass, the lemon zest substitution worked out well to coat the chicken. This chicken dish could be easily paired with rice or any other side dish. Leftovers came out pretty darn good.
White Bean Chicken Chili–A+. This is one of my personally favorite chili dishes I’ve made in the past couple of years. I loved the white beans with the chicken. It wasn’t too hot and spicy, just mild on how I liked it. Leftovers were amazingly good as well.
Savory Pumpkin and Sage Soup (A+)--This soup was so delicious and creamy with the pumpkin flavor. You can barely taste the sage in the soup. Perfect to have on a cold fall or winter evening to warm you up. No leftovers.
Autumn Pumpkin Chili–A+. This was another big hit across the board. I loved the ground turkey and how it meshed well with the autumn flavors of pumpkin and spice. It definitely hit the spot right on the nose. Leftovers came out so deliciously good.
Butternut Squash and White Bean Soup-A-. I loved the combination of the butternut squash and mashed white beans. It reminded me of a bit like bean and bacon soup, only without the butternut squash. Perfect for warming you up for cold weather nights. The leftovers tasted so good and refreshing.
Grilled Vegetable Tortellini Salad–A-. This salad recipe is so versatile when you substitute a variety of veggies to grill for the salad. And the tortellini was a perfect addition to the salad, best served hot, cold, or at room temperature. I had it cold. The leftovers came out real well in every bite.
Slow Cooker Pumpkin Black Bean Turkey Chili-A+. This was most definitely scrumptious and delicious to have pumpkin and turkey combine together for a warm chili in the crockpot. I would have to say, this was one of my favorite chili dishes I’ve made in the past two to three years. Leftovers were literally to die for.
BLT Linguine-A. A simple dish with a classic twist on a favorite sandwich. I loved how the roma tomatoes, the spinach, and the bacon tasted like the real deal and coated the linguine for an amazing pasta dish. No leftovers.
I’ll post those two leftover September recipes in the November recipe record post real soon.
That’s it for last month’s recipe report card with amazingly good results. Which recipes do you want to try to make? I’ll be back tomorrow evening after round two of interviews.

Everything sounds so good. I have never tried using pumpkin in recipes.
