I had to stick to a budget, because tht's just how things are right now. We are sticking to a pretty strict budget all the time in all areas right now. Anyway. I decided cheeseburgers would be easy, and fairly cheap to do. So I got a pound of ground beef, swiss cheese, and buns at the store this afternoon. We had condiments and the instant mashed potatoes already (I know mashed potatoes are a no no. But like I said, budget). -Hamburger buns were $1.75 (we used 3 of them which by my math comes to about $0.66 for what we we used) - $0.66 -Pound of ground beef $5.00 ( used about 1/2 pound) $2.50 -Swiss Cheese $3.00 (I mathed again) - $0.54 -Condiments - $0.30 -Instant mashed potatoes (the flakes, butter, milk and salt and pepper) $0.75 So dinner tonight cost approximately: $4.75. Not bad at all. Might not have been a gourmet dinner, or anything that fancy, but it was good and we are full. What did you make/have for dinner tonight? Was your meal any more frugal than mine? I bet @soujourner 's was.

Mine wasnt bad in price. It was half a bag of egg noodles and then a can of beef stew mixed in.
